The Journey Begins

Our journey begins in the semi-wilds of Colorado.....Grand Mesa, CO to be more exact. Giant aspen trees, spectacular pine trees, invigorating lakes and streams, and delicious mountain strawberries! Oh! And the sunsets and the stars! It make an otter really appreciate the beauty of the natural world around her.

It is important to start off a day of exploration with a good breakfast....even if it takes longer to cook it at higher altitudes.

Breakfast in the mountains makes a girl happy.

Scouting for photo locations, trying to not get distracted playing in the river.

What can I say? An otter loves her water. Especially when it is moving!

Found an apricot tree on the side of the road!

Such a BIG lake for such a little otter. Thank goodness for paddleboards!

Found a nice patch of soft moss for a little contemplation and rest.

The BEST find of the day!!! Mountain strawberries are the second best berry in the Rocky Mountains!
